Have you ever been to an event that was so incredibly impactful that it was beyond description?
An event that lead you through multiple breakthrough moments that you were certain would help you soar not just to the next level, but towards an extraordinary level?
A few weeks ago I attended such an event – Tony Robbins’ Unleash The Power Within!
While I cannot describe this fully-immersive 4 day event, I will share a few of my biggest takeaways…
Takeaway #1: Change Your State, Change Your Life
At your core, you are what you focus on.
What you focus on triggers emotions and those emotions control your life.
- What you have vs What’s missing
- What you control vs what you can’t control
- Dwelling on the past, present, or future
Your thoughts put you into a certain state.
Is it a Beautiful or Peek State, one of high energy, passion, and drive?
Or is it a Suffering State, one of low energy, negativity, and apathy?
The good news is, you can prime your body to get into your Peek State.
Consider practicing Tony Robbin’s simple 10-minute priming routine in the morning:
- Sit: In a quiet place with both feet on the floor, sit with your shoulders back, chest up, and head held high. Think Superman pose.
- Breath: Take deep breaths filling your lungs with air. Pause for 1 second and slowly release. Continue this for 1 minute.
- Gratitude: Think of three things you’re truly grateful, whether from your past, present or future. Visualize yourself in the moment as vividly as possible. After about a minute, think of your next thing you’re grateful for, and then the next. Continue for 3 minutes.
- Visualize: This part can be a spiritual as you like it, like a blessing or a prayer. Imagine colorful light coming down and filling your body, healing anything that needs to be healed, whether your body, thoughts, emotions, or feelings. Envision your problems being washed away. Continue for 90 seconds.
- Share: Now share the positive energy you’ve received out to others. This can be a thought or simple text message. Feel the energy pouring out to your family, loved ones, colleagues, clients, friends and even strangers you’ve only met once. Continue for 90 seconds.
- Celebrate: Now think about the three biggest results or goals that you want to achieve. Goals that will excite you once they’re accomplished. What would achieving them feel like? Envision yourself in that moment of achievement and celebrate that feeling of victory. Feel how it will impact you and what those accomplishments could do for people around you. Go through each outcome one by one, similar to Gratitude, visually immersing yourself in the feeling of success. Continue for 3 minutes.
By priming you are putting yourself into a peek state that will get you ready to conquer the day.
This can be done once a day in the morning, or periodically throughout the day (particularly at moments in the day when you your energy level, focus, or emotions decline).
Make it a commitment to prime yourself into peek state daily for the next 30 days.
Document the impact that it has on your life. You will be pleasantly surprised!
